Overview
A central government organisation is seeking an experienced Integration Architect
to play a leading role in the development of a strategic integration architecture. This role will focus on defining and shaping reference, conceptual, and logical architectures to ensure that new digital services are integrated effectively into a complex and evolving environment.
The Integration Architect will work at a strategic level, engaging with multiple stakeholders, defining standards and policies, and ensuring alignment across organisations and digital service providers.
Key Responsibilities

Define and lead the development of the Integration Architecture (reference, conceptual, and logical).

Produce visualisations, models, and key graphics to support stakeholder understanding.

Identify integration elements and dependencies, including data, standards, access, monitoring, and error handling.

Review existing documentation and establish an “as-is” baseline.

Develop integration templates, policies, and rules to support consistency and compliance.

Coordinate and consult with stakeholders to align approaches, identify gaps, and resolve misalignments.

Track related developments and initiatives across programmes and forums.

Develop supporting artefacts such as integration catalogues, pattern libraries, and dependency registers.

Provide outputs that highlight risks, issues, and areas requiring remedial action.
Skills and Experience Required

Proven expertise in Integration Architecture, ideally in large-scale or complex environments.

Experience in engineering, logistics, or support domains within highly regulated sectors.

Strong understanding of digital services compliance and open standards.

Knowledge of secure networks, infrastructure, cloud environments, cyber operations, and identity management.

Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to influence at senior levels.

Strong consulting and advisory skills, comfortable facilitating across multi-disciplinary teams.

Current SC clearance is essential.

Experience of business change programmes is advantageous.
