CONFIGURATION ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - £50 PER HOUR - 12 MONTHS - STEVENAGE, HERTFORDSHIRE - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS

An anonymous client is seeking a Senior Configuration Engineer to join their Configuration Management team, supporting complex projects across multiple product lifecycles in a multinational environment. The role provides technical support to the Configuration Manager and ensures the integrity of product definition and engineering change processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Configuration Manager on assigned projects, owning product definition and configuration management for specific products or project elements.

• Control and maintain design definitions across development, production, and in-service phases.

• Manage engineering change processes using PLM tools (e.g., Windchill), ensuring business procedures and approval controls are applied.

• Review, accept, or reject engineering changes as appropriate.

• Prepare configuration documentation, reports, and status accounting information for project teams and customers.

• Coordinate and provide data for configuration reviews and meetings.

• Act as a point of contact for configuration issues, liaising with engineering, project, and customer teams.

• Provide guidance on engineering change methodologies aligned with lifecycle requirements.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of configuration management principles and application in an engineering environment.

• Experience managing engineering changes and product design definitions within PLM tools (Windchill experience desirable).

• High concern for order, quality, and process integrity.

• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic) across all levels.

• Proactive, flexible, and able to plan and manage workload independently.

• Strong IT literacy and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Ability to positively represent the Configuration Management function within project teams.
