The Role:
As an Electronics Design Engineer, you’ll play a key part in developing sophisticated electronic systems for next-generation weapon platforms. You’ll contribute to the design and delivery of electronic subsystems for missiles and associated firing units across Land, Sea, and Air domains.
You’ll be responsible for the technical quality, performance, and integrity of your designs while maintaining oversight of cost and schedule commitments. The role spans the full product life cycle, from early concept through to production, and will see you applying expertise in both analogue and power electronics at sub-system and board level.
Collaboration is central to success in this role. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Software, Firmware, Mechanical, EMC, and Environmental disciplines to ensure designs meet demanding technical and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality electronic design solutions for complex systems, from concept to production
• Take ownership of electronic work packages, ensuring on-time, on-cost, and on-quality delivery
• Liaise effectively with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate designs within broader system architectures
• Provide technical updates, manage risks, and contribute to design reviews
• Ensure compliance with relevant design, safety, and quality standards
Required Skills and Experience:
• Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in Electronic Engineering or related discipline
• Proven background in electronic design and development across the full engineering lifecycle
• Strong practical experience in analogue and power electronics design
• Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver significant electronic design packages
• Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across diverse teams
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a broad technical knowledge base
