MERITUS are recruiting for a Commissioning Engineer to join our client supporting the delivery of electrical automation and control systems projects across the Energy and Power Generation sectors.
COMMISSIONING ENGINEER - £NEG (ENQUIRE FOR DETAILS) - STONE / CLIENT SITES - SECTOR: ENERGY / POWER GENERATION
- Conduct Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities in accordance with approved engineering documentation.
- Support and execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities for electrical automation and control systems.
- Provide technical supervision and support for installation activities across client sites.
- Deploy and configure SCADA, RTU, PLC, IED, and industrial networking systems, ensuring successful operation and integration.
- Carry out electrical and electronic fault-finding activities, ensuring issues are accurately documented and resolved.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to support commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
- Support projects ranging from small system modifications through to full control system replacements across critical infrastructure environments.
Skillset / experience required:
Essential:
- Qualification or demonstrable experience within an Electrical Engineering discipline.
- Strong experience in commissioning methodologies, system testing, and fault diagnosis.
- Proven background in electrical and electronic fault-finding within industrial environments.
- Understanding of industrial communication networks and protocols including Ethernet, fibre, and serial communications.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- BS767118th Edition qualification.
- C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within the Energy, Utilities, Water, Renewables, or Manufacturing sectors.
- Experience working with SCADA, PLC, RTU, and protection systems.
- Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems integration.
- Experience supporting commissioning activities across multiple UK client sites.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively on-site.
