Director of Maintenance

Salary: $200,000 – $290,000 + Executive Benefits

Meritus are partnered with a growing aviation MRO organisation in Florida supporting complex maintenance programmes across commercial and specialised aircraft platforms.

This is a senior leadership appointment for an experienced Director of Maintenance capable of leading high-performing maintenance operations in a regulated, safety-critical environment. The position requires a commercially aware operational leader who can balance FAA compliance, workforce performance, customer delivery, and long-term maintenance strategy.

You will take ownership of maintenance operations across the facility, driving operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, manpower planning, and customer programme execution while working closely with executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all maintenance operations across the MRO facility
• Ensure full FAA regulatory compliance and audit readiness
• Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Drive operational performance, turnaround times, and customer satisfaction
• Manage and develop maintenance leadership teams, supervisors, and technical personnel
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, and productivity
• Work closely with customers, OEMs, suppliers, and regulatory authorities
• Manage labour forecasting, operational budgets, and strategic growth planning
• Ensure maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards

Requirements

• Extensive leadership experience within an aviation MRO environment
• Strong understanding of FAA regulations and maintenance compliance requirements
• Proven experience managing large maintenance teams in a fast-paced operational setting
• Background overseeing heavy maintenance, modifications, or complex maintenance programmes
• Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing capability
• Commercially aware with experience balancing operational delivery and financial performance
• A&P License preferred
• Experience within commercial aviation, corporate aviation, or specialised aircraft maintenance environments considered
