MERITUS are recruiting for an Electrical Wireperson to join our client within the Energy sphere as they grow across Transmission and Distribution.

ELECTRICAL WIREPERSON - £NEG - STONE, STAFFORDSHIRE - GREAT PACKAGE - FAST PROCESS - SECTOR: NUCLEAR / POWER GENERATION

You will be responsible for the assembly, wiring and testing of electrical control panels, working from detailed engineering drawings, parts lists and specifications.

You will play a key part in ensuring high-quality build standards are maintained, supporting production deadlines and working closely with engineering and test teams to resolve any build or design issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and wire electrical control panels to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Build mechanical enclosures, cubicles and framework.
  • Carry out bench assembly of electrical sub-assemblies.
  • Work to company quality standards and procedures at all times.
  • Complete assembly record cards to ensure full traceability of components.
  • Ensure all work meets required quality standards, including rework identified during inspection and test.
  • Update electronic issue logs and communicate directly with design engineers to resolve build issues.
  • Support production targets and deadlines, including flexible working where required.
  • Work collaboratively within a wider assembly and test team.
  • Where required, support or assist in leading a production bay to ensure standards and output are maintained.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused electrical panel wirer with strong experience in control panel assembly.

You will ideally have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in electrical panel wiring or control panel assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings.
  • Strong understanding of electrical assembly processes.
  • Good time management skills and ability to work to deadlines.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to engage with engineers and production staff.
