MERITUS are recruiting for an HR Advisor to join our client within the defence sector on a 12-month contract from their site in Stevenage. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, typically requiring 3-4 days onsite per week, and will require candidates to undergo BPSS clearance with eligibility for further security vetting.
HR ADVISOR - INSIDE IR35 - £22 PER HOUR - STEVENAGE - 12 MONTHS - HYBRID WORKING - BPSS CLEARANCE - HR OPERATIONS - FACE TO FACE INTERVIEW PROCESS - SECTOR: DEFENCE
This position operates Monday to Friday on a full-time basis, with candidates typically required onsite 3-4 days per week depending on operational requirements. Travel to other UK sites may occasionally be required.
As an HR Advisor, you will provide operational and administrative HR support across a broad range of employee lifecycle activities. Working closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition teams and management stakeholders, you will support the delivery of key HR processes while helping to ensure a positive employee experience.
You will be involved in employee relations support, recruitment activities, onboarding and induction, payroll and attendance processes, immigration administration, data reporting and HR project work. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals at varying stages of their HR career, from graduates through to experienced HR professionals looking to broaden their exposure within a large-scale organisation.
Skillset/experience required:
What can you bring to the role?
- Previous experience within HR administration, HR advisory or people operations environments
- Strong understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle activities
- Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and induction activities
- Ability to provide guidance and support to employees and managers on day-to-day HR matters
- Experience supporting disciplinary, grievance or employee relations processes
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities
- Experience producing HR reports, audits and workforce data analysis
- High attention to detail and strong administrative capability
- Good Microsoft Office skills with knowledge of HR systems
- Experience with Workday, Google Workspace or similar HR platforms would be advantageous
- Proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
