MERITUS are recruiting for a Nightshift Lineside Quality Engineer. The role pays a basic rate of £40.13 per hour, but when conducting overtime, you will be paid a 30% upliift on top of the hourly rate.
NIGHTSHIFT LINESIDE ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - £52.16 PER HOUR (INCLUSIVE OF 30% NIGHTSHIT UPLIFT) - 9 MONTHS - BROUGHTON, FLINTSHIRE - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW - MUST HAVE HNC/HND OR BENG
Provide hands-on technical support to production teams, resolving manufacturing issues, minimising disruption and improving quality, efficiency and production flow.
Working closely with operators, FLMs and engineering/support functions, you will investigate technical problems, manage non-conformances and rework, and provide the technical information needed to keep production moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve shopfloor production and technical issues.
- Identify, document and support resolution of Non-Conformances (NCs), assembly anomalies and defects.
- Support root-cause analysis, containment and corrective actions.
- Create and manage rework work orders and supporting technical documentation.
- Provide drawings, specifications, tooling and other technical information to production.
- Identify and escalate blocked or delayed work and support production prioritisation.
- Work with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics and other support teams to resolve issues.
- Support Lean, continuous improvement and waste-reduction initiatives.
- Support the repair, modification and introduction of tools, jigs and fixtures.
- Ensure quality, process, health & safety and environmental standards are followed.
- Support outstanding-work management and ensure actions are progressed to completion.
Essential Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, engineering or similar technical environment.
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience with production issues, non-conformances and rework.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams.
- Proactive, organised and able to work effectively in a fast-paced shopfloor environment.
