MERITUS are recruiting for a Quality Conformance Engineer to join our large aerospace client on an initial 6 month contract as part of their Quality Development Programmes & Major Projects team.

An opportunity has opened within a Quality Development Programmes & Major Projects team at a large aerospace manufacturing site.
This role offers the opportunity to develop skills and experience across Project Management, APQP application, Quality Standards, Industrial System Development, and Operational Quality Management.
The position is responsible for leading and driving the resolution of complex quality issues and continuous improvement projects by setting measurement standards and identifying and facilitating improvements to increase:
- Process performance and product adherence to standards
- Reliability of processes
- Repeatability of processes at initial design phase, prior to any process changes, and throughout the product lifecycle
- Prevention, surveillance, inspection, problem solving, and adherence
Core Mission
- Ensure full quality industrialisation of major modifications, synchronised embodiment programmes, incremental developments, full developments, and major industrial transfers to enable serial manufacture at current and ramp-up production rates
- Maintain strong focus on Production Organisation Approval (POA) activities to ensure a high level of product safety
- Provide quality input into all reviews including risk, cross-functional, planning, and stakeholder reviews
Key Responsibilities
- Apply and deploy APQP and relevant quality standards
- Support and facilitate Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) across design, process, and machinery
- Create and update Control Plans to reflect modifications where required
- Plan and execute Production Process Verification (PPV) to validate manufacturing routings
- Lead Cost of Non-Quality forecasting and support mitigation activities
- Provide on-site production support for test campaigns and manufacturing during Start of Production phases
- Support cascade of Key Characteristics (KC) and Critical to Inspection (CTI) requirements from design and manufacturing engineering
- Support APQP activities including Decision Trees, Applicability Matrices, and Key Business Deliverable assessments as both owner and assessor
