MERITUS are recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join our client within the aerospace and defence sector on a 6-month contract from their site in Portsmouth. This role is fully onsite and will require candidates to undergo BPSS clearance prior to starting.
QUALITY INSPECTOR - INSIDE IR35 - £35 PER HOUR - PORTSMOUTH - 6 MONTHS - BPSS CLEARANCE - CLEANROOM INSPECTION - TWO STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS - SECTOR: AEROSPACE & DEFENCE
This position operates on a standard 35-hour week across 4.5 days, working between 07:00 and 19:00 subject to business requirements. Candidates should also be willing to work early and late shift patterns when required.
As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring conformity of production and test operations within a highly regulated cleanroom environment. Working to established quality standards and procedures, you will support the inspection and validation of complex products, ensuring all activities meet defined quality, technical and compliance requirements.
You will carry out quality inspections, design verification activities, non-conformance investigations and audit activities whilst supporting continuous improvement initiatives across production operations. This role is ideal for quality professionals who have experience working within aerospace, defence, manufacturing or highly regulated engineering environments.
Skillset/experience required:
What can you bring to the role?
- Previous experience within a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician or Quality Assurance role
- Experience conducting quality inspections within manufacturing or engineering environments
- Knowledge of non-conformance management and corrective action processes
- Experience supporting root cause investigations and quality improvement activities
- Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation, inspection criteria and technical standards
- Experience carrying out documentation reviews and compliance checks
- Strong understanding of quality control processes and inspection techniques
- Experience working within cleanroom, aerospace, defence or highly regulated production environments would be advantageous
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements within manufacturing operations
- Experience conducting audits and supporting compliance activities
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify quality issues and deviations
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production and engineering teams
