Contract Software Test Engineer – Geospatial / API Testing
Guildford (3 days onsite, 2 remote)
70 per hour (Inside IR35)
12-month contract
We’re supporting a high-profile engineering programme delivering cutting-edge geospatial and cloud-based solutions used in complex, real-world environments. This is not a typical test role, you’ll be embedded within an Agile team and involved across the full software lifecycle.
The Role
You’ll work closely with developers, product owners, and integration teams to ensure quality is built in from the start. The focus is on API and web application testing, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing

Designing and executing tests within an Agile Scrum environment

Testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman

Web application and UI testing across complex systems

Supporting integration and acceptance testing phases

Contributing to automation frameworks and improving test coverage

Working closely with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria
What We’re Looking For

Strong experience in software testing within Agile teams

Hands-on API testing (REST / Postman)

Experience testing web-based applications

Exposure to test automation tools or frameworks

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across teams
