SENIOR INTERACTION DESIGNER – £70,000 – REMOTE (WITH OCCASIONAL TRAVEL TO CLIENT SITE IN TAUNTON) – SC CLEARANCE REQUIRED
MERITUS are recruiting for a Senior Interaction Designer to join a leading organisation delivering complex UK Central Government and Defence programmes.
This role would suit an experienced Interaction Designer, UX Designer or Senior UX Designer with strong expertise in user-centred design, prototyping, wireframing and accessible digital services. Experience across discovery, alpha and delivery, particularly within Government or Defence, would be highly beneficial.
Responsibilities:
- Lead interaction design across discovery, alpha and delivery.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, interaction models and design patterns.
- Work directly with users and customers to understand needs.
- Facilitate design workshops and stakeholder sessions.
- Collaborate with researchers, service and content designers, developers and stakeholders.
- Apply accessibility and inclusive design principles.
- Communicate design decisions using evidence and user insight.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- SC Clearance
- Strong commercial experience in interaction design / UX design.
- Experience across discovery, alpha and delivery.
- Strong wireframing, prototyping and interaction design capability.
- Comfortable working directly with customers and users.
- Confident facilitating workshops.
- Strong stakeholder and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Experience working closely with development teams.
Desirable:
- UK Central Government, Defence or regulated-sector experience.
- Knowledge of GDS / GOV.UK service standards.
- Experience with design systems and Agile delivery.
- Interest or experience in service and content design.
